We are getting an excellent kill on the buckbrush. I posted these photos so you can see the difference between where I burned in mid December. The grass I planted is really taking off where I burned, not so much where I didn't burn. I have no idea how my burning will effect the buckbrush kill, but as far as getting grass started, it was a tremendous advantage to the grass where I burned and I am very pleased with the way it is coming in. It will be interesting to see what effect the burning will have on killing the buckbrush. Where I burned, the buckbrush cam back this spring from the roots...there was very little leaf area and that may hinder the effects of the spraying. we will see.
I think our spraying hurt around 75% of the trees, probably 10% or so were hurt pretty severely. It appears one particular type of tree was hurt worst but I've seen trees of all species in pretty bad shape. We sprayed very early before most of the trees were sprouting, but we sprayed again when the bulk of the trees had very small sprouts starting. I am doubtful the trees will die but they look pretty bad.
